Well, after being appalled by the idea of one book a year, I promptly met a friend in gr 9 who really did only read a couple of books for fun per year. She said the worst was when one of them turned out to be bad, after all that. And since then, met a number of folk with disabilities that made reading incredibly difficult, so I find the idea little easier to contemplate now than I did at age 14.
